An axial fan moves air along the shaft rather than across it. It will not generate the pressure a centrifugal will, but for the same duty at low resistance it is smaller, lighter, cheaper to install and considerably easier to fit into a duct run — which is why almost all general building ventilation and every tunnel ventilation scheme in the country uses them.
Our impellers are cast in aluminium alloy with a true aerofoil section and adjustable blade pitch. That adjustability is the single most useful feature of the range and it is routinely ignored at commissioning: a scheme designed for 14 m³/s that measures 11 on site can often be brought back by four degrees of pitch rather than by a new fan and a new order.
Cases come short, long, or bifurcated with the motor out of the airstream for hot or contaminated air. All three take the same impeller and the same mountings, so a specification change between design and order does not restart the drawing.
